About Us

Make Your Trip Special

Barak Valley Wildlife Division is nestled in the lush greenery of southern Assam. We are dedicated to the conservation and management of the region’s rich biodiversity. Covering the districts of Cachar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi, this division is home to diverse ecosystems, including dense forests, wetlands, and grasslands that support a wide variety of flora and fauna. Our neighbouring states includes Mizoram, Meghalaya and Tripura.

Our mission is to protect and preserve the natural heritage of Barak Valley by implementing sustainable wildlife conservation practices, habitat restoration programs, and community engagement initiatives like Borail Eco Camp. We work tirelessly to safeguard the endangered and indigenous species that thrive in our forests, including Hoolock Gibbons, Leopards, Deers, King Cobras, other endangered reptiles, and a vast array of birdlife.

With protected areas like the Borail Wildlife Sanctuary, Inner-Line Reserve Forests, and many other reserve forests, the Barak Valley Wildlife Division serves as a vital green corridor, ensuring ecological balance and conducting wildlife awareness programmes to educate people and also explore eco-tourism opportunities.
